Can someone check my work/help me with a chemistry problem? It's about molarity and concentration.

sam (.sam.):

Looks good to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm confused about which numbers to put where, though. Like is 5mL my Vc or is 10mL my Vc? I'm pretty sure 0.1 M HCl is my Mc, so I'm just confused about my Vc and Vd.

sam (.sam.):

Vc is 5ml, because you are adding both solution to get 10ml dilute solution

sam (.sam.):

\[M_1V_1=M_2V_2 \\ \\ 0.1(5)=M_2(5)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or \[M_2 = M_1V_1/V_2\] right?

sam (.sam.):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So my M2 is 0.5if I did that right!

sam (.sam.):

careful

sam (.sam.):

\[ 0.1\cancel{(5)}=M_2\cancel{(5)}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh. Right. Thank you so much! :)

sam (.sam.):

yw :)
