I am not understanding how to simplify the quadratic equation using the quadratic formula: original question 6x^2+2x-5=0

OpenStudy (mertsj):

a=6, b=2, c=-5

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Plug them in and solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, I am all the way to x=-2+-444^1/2/22 not sure if that is how to type it on my keyboard

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[x=\frac{-2\pm \sqrt{2^2-4(6)(-5)}}{2(6)}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, got the first one wrong, now trying top solve a=11, b=2, c=-10

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[x=\frac{-2\pm \sqrt{2^2-4(11)(-10)}}{2(11)}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is 444 in the sq rt correct?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

yes

OpenStudy (mertsj):

But of course that can be simplified since 444=4 x 111
