multiply 2xy(x+y)

2x^2y^2

use the distributive property to solve this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Distribute the 2xy into the two different parts of the equation. When you multiply 2xy and x, there will be two x's so that part of the equation becomes \[2x ^{2}y \] and then the second part will become\[2xy ^{2}\] because there are two y's. your result is \[2x ^{2}y + 2xy ^{2}\]

Just distribute it inside the parentheses.
