Factor Completely. \[x ^{2}-3xy+9y ^{2}\] Sorry, this is one of the weaker areas of this subject for me.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Could you factor it if it said x^2-3x+9 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the formula \[(a-b)^2 = a^2 - 2ab + b^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you guess what a and b values are from the above?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Actually it is prime because there are no factors of 9 whose sum is -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factoring is hard for me. I can multiply it all day long but changing it to the other way is hard. and no @Bad2zBone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. Thank you @Mertsj This one was quite a bit harder than the others and I guess that is why. lol

OpenStudy (mertsj):

yw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is true actually, that should be a 6 not a 3 in the middle
