find the volume of the triangular prism to the nearest whole unit
Okay, so what you have to do is get the area of the triangle up front, can you do that?
Once you find that area, multiply it to the length of this triangular prism... and you'll have the volume
no i have no clue how to find the area:(
Formula for the area of a triangle is \[\Large \frac12\times base \times height\]
The triangle up front has height 2 and a base of length 12...
So the area of that triangle is...?
i already know the answer its 216ft^3 but i need the formula on the volume
Yes... okay, if you must have the formula for volume... then here it is :) For a triangular prism, the volume is given by \[\Large \frac12 \times base\times height \times length\]
base here being 12 height being 2 and length being 18
alright thanks:) a lot:)
No problem :)
do you know the formula for a cone?
i know the formula i just cant figure out how to simplify it 1/3(Area of Base)(height) = 1/3 pi r2 h
Yeah, volume of a cone is given by \[\Large V = \frac13 \times \pi \times r^2\times h\]
ok thanks that much more simple
Just key in... what's your radius?
im not sure yet hold on
6in
i think i got it
Okay :)
Just remember pi is just 3.1416 (approx) and your height is 11
lol sorry but do you know the formula for a pyramid?
