A question asks to list all local min values. It only lets me put one number, so do I list the x value or the y value of where the min is?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):
y is usually given as a function of x, e.g. y = f(x)
so y represents the "value" of the function.
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
I would therefore say that you should list the y values
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so for (-4,1) that is where the max is found, I will write (-1) as the local max value right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
(-4,-1)*
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay so the question says this "All local min values of f:_____"
then it has another one that says "all values at which f has a local min"
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
the second part represents x. i is asking what values of x give you the local min "value" for f(x)
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
*it is asking...
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay so for the second part i list the x. okay i gotcha thanks so much for the clarification
