Okay lets see what you can do :) So dry ice is solid carbon dioxide, at normal atmospheric pressure and -78.5 degrees solid CO2 sublimes to the gas phase, without ever being a liquid. What does this sublimtation point reveal about the strength of the intermolecular forces in solid CO2?

okay so my train of thought so far is that since intermolecular forces means the force of attraction between molecules then maybe the forces are really weak? because they shift from solid to gas so fast?

yep, CO2 is non-polar. Only IMFs it has are london dispersion forces.
