Can a geometric sequence have a term with a zero value? If not, why not? Thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe not .As all the coming terms will become zero. There won't be any particular common ratio of the series.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a geometric term can have none of its term 0 other wise its common ratio has to be 0 and subsequently other terms except the first non-zero term

Thank you, Diwakar and matricked. So, since the common ratio (An / An-1) cannot be zero, then no term (An) in the geometric sequence can be zero. That makes sense.
