Which of these cannot be made without using a pencil, a compass, and a straightedge? a) the picture of a tree seen in the park b) a design on the top edge of a pencil stand c) a rectangle showing exact measurements of the sides d) the plan showing the locations to hide treasures for a treasure hunt

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

when do you need a straightedge or a compass?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Well I should say just the straightedge. What do you use it for?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D i believe

geerky42 (geerky42):

It's C because you actually can't measure with these tools.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh sorry good job

geerky42 (geerky42):

Wait, hold on I think I misread question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sooo was the answer C) or D)

geerky42 (geerky42):

Never mind, I believe it's C.

geerky42 (geerky42):

A, B, and D need pencil to be made. so this leave out C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it is D) because a mapis a location and locations need the exact measurement so they wont get lost witch is y they use a compass and a straight edge to show how far to go before turning......But you could be right.

geerky42 (geerky42):

Yeah, tricky question.

geerky42 (geerky42):

Now you pointed it out, I'm not sure whether it's C or D.

geerky42 (geerky42):

@.Sam. What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A straight edge and compass= A rectangle showing the exaxt measurements A straight edge and a copmpass=A plan showing the locations to hid tresures for a treasure hunt

geerky42 (geerky42):

"A straight edge and compass= A rectangle showing the exact measurements" I think you need ruler for this.

geerky42 (geerky42):

So it can be made without compass and straightedge, but not without pencil lol.

geerky42 (geerky42):

And ruler is needed for this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SOOOO we have to come w/ an answer we agree on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to measure a triangle i thought u used a protractor not a compass

geerky42 (geerky42):

Well, yeah. Ruler, protractor, or something like that.

geerky42 (geerky42):

Wait, protractor measures only angles.
