Depends which one. Some schools separate it into 3 courses and some only 2. There's thermodynamics, chemical statistics, and quantum. some schools don't require chemical statistics unless you're a chem-engineer, physical chem, or strictly chem. Biochemistry-chemistry often doesn't require it, and neither do those who want to get into teaching or pharmaceutical chemistry.
Hmm.. yeah you don't use that much calculus in thermo, but yes in quantum. Still that's strange, I don't think you really need linear algebra unless you're dealing with heavy group theory and character tables...Wow. That sounds way tough. Good luck with that! I would NOT want to be in that class.
Oh, well then why are you worrying about it now, you still have quite a while to go until you touch any physical chemistry.
