The domain of a function is all values of x where the function is defined, or has a value. In this case the domain is [-9,9] The same concept is true for the range, which is just the y values. The range is where the function is defined for y, being [-4,5] We used brackets instead of parentheses because brackets indicate that the domain and range *include* the value inside, not stopping just before. If you were to use parenthesis, that would indicate that the domain *approaches* -9 and 9 but never attain those values.
