I need a refresher on how to get probabilities? "Two people are selected at random from a group of 6 pilots and 4 engineers. What is the probability that both of them are engineers?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nobody even has to solve this completely for me, just remind me how to do it.

OpenStudy (kropot72):

The probability that the first person selected is an engineer is 4/10. The probability that the second person selected is an engineer is 3/9. The required probability is the product of the above two values of probability.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I would multiply 4/10 and 3/9, and the probability would be 12/90 simplified to 2/15?

OpenStudy (kropot72):

@TammisaurusRex You are correct :)
