Suppose f(x) = 4x – 2 and g(x) = -2x + 1. Find the value of f(g(3))

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So you would first....find the value for g(3) meaning everywhere in g(x) you see an 'x'...replace it with a 3 -2(3) + 1 -6 + 1 -5 now you take this value you just found...and place THAT into f(x) everywhere you see an 'x' 4(-5) - 2 = ...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-37

?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

you would do 4 times - 5 which is -20 then subtract 2 -20 - 2 = ...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-22

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):
