in statistics what does it means if my simple regression model has a different b1 value from my multiple regression model of b1, b2, b3?.... im kinda worried that theres not a significant relationship ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

help me please

@bahrom7893

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

@satellite73 @jim_thompson5910 @UnkleRhaukus @experimentX @.Sam. @Callisto

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Sorry guys I'm horrible at stat, can you help?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Thanks

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

can anyone help, please c:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the very last one is the multiple regression table and the b1 b2 b3 is not very close to the bivariate regression models above so i'm lost =( i want to know what this means is it not significant?

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/spss/output/reg_spss%28long%29.htm Read this. Does this help at all?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it doesnt =(

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Or this: https://www.msu.edu/course/msc/317/multreg.htm

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Dangit. Sorry. =/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you are try to fit your data?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

@ganeshie8 @precal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i need to know if the last table the multiple regression table's B values are insignificant because they are very different from the previous tables that correspond to the independent variables which are Asian, Female, and Esteem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Jemurray3

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

http://people.duke.edu/~rnau/simpreg.htm <-- Does this help? (Oh yes, I'm posting a bunch of link related to this question) Do w.e it take for you to get your answer. :) )

OpenStudy (zale101):

@robtobey

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh no that last link didnt even have multivariate regression models on it =(

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

@Zarkon

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

http://people.stern.nyu.edu/wgreene/Statistics/MultipleRegressionBasicsCollection.pdf Read the first few pages. I think this might help. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually it didnt explain much about the b values and what it means if they are different from the multivariate regression model =(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank u so much for helpin tho <3333333333333333333333333

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

I didn't really hlep though. =/

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Let me give you 1 more link --> http://homes.chass.utoronto.ca/~josephf/pol242/Labs/LM-9A/LM-9A_content.htm (When I skim through this page, I was thinking to myself, "What the hell are you learning?!)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thought that counts i wish satellite would help me tho =(

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

I'LL MAKE HIM COME: @satellite73

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

he showed up already

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Really? o.o.

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

yea he doesn't remember stat

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Oh, my bad satellite. T~T. Stat look too complex.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank u everybody for helping

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Why would you take this, smoothie?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its mandatory for my major =(

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Well good luck. :)

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

@phi @Directrix

OpenStudy (phi):

*** my simple regression model has a different b1 value from my multiple regression model of b1, b2, b3?.*** if by simple regression you mean with one variable, then I think it means that your data is better modeled with multiple variables. In other words, one explanatory variable does less well than multiple variables.

OpenStudy (precal):

sorry I don't recall stats
