SO lost on this! Consider the followingproblem: "It costs 15¢ per bale for 45-pound bales of hay for sheep food. If you have a flock of 42 sheep and each sheep eats 5 pounds of hay per day for 210 days of winter, how much does it cost to feed one sheep in the flock for the winter?" Which of the following statements is true for this problem? i) It costs 15¢ per sheep for 9 days of feed. ii) " 42 sheep" is extraneous information. iii) It costs $(210 X 5 X 0.15)/45 to feed one sheep for the winter. A) (i) only B) (ii) only C) (i) and (ii) only D) All of (i), (ii), and (ii

wait for it..

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Most likely be i and ii since you have 42 sheep but the calculations refer to how much each sheep eats,to how many days it's fed during winter, and how much it costs per bale. this information would be enough information needed to calculate the cost to feed one sheep in the flock for winter. The # of sheep in the flock just tell you if you were calculating so-and-so amount for 1 sheep in the flock, how much would be the cost of 42 sheep... etc.
