Simplify sec(theta)cos(theta)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

R U taking the unit quiz for chapter 14?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm on the same quiz!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sec(theta) = 1/costheta so, just multiply (1/costheta)*costetha = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We would except we don't have calcs that do that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my options are: tan theta 1 cot theta cos theta so it's 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

O! nevermind, Can you help me with my questions, it's the one under hers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

osmium i have a calculator..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Meegan have you done any other problems?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, it's 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

O, well that question would be easy if you used it... lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You don't need a calculator to do that, just proprieties.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dude ask your own questions i actually need help. i'm not trying to cheat i'm trying to learn.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks @zairhenrique

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't have a calc. I'm trying to learn how to do these without a calc and that is pretty much impossible. Sorry, jeez.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will use latex to make it easy to see:\[\sec \theta = \frac{ 1 }{ \cos \theta }\]It's a rule. So,\[\sec \theta*\cos \theta=\frac{ 1 }{ \cos \theta } * \cos \theta = \frac{ \cos \theta }{ \cos \theta } = 1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I remember that now thanks.
