the resultant of a 5N& a 2N force acting simultaneously on an object in the same direction is in Newton (a) 0 (b)7 (c)5 (d)13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be 7 N , B

Can you explain me how did you solve?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well its a vector addition basically. They're both in the same direction acting on the object. An example would be one person pulling on a box with a force of 5 N to the left and someone else pushing on the box with a force of 2 N to the left also. Because the forces are both acting in the same direction (left) all you have to do is add them. So the total force (net force) would be 7 N to the left. If the one force had been in the opposite direction you would have needed to subtract the two vectors rather than add.
