please help (MC) What was one similarity between the antiwar movement and the Red Power movement? support for greater economic equality the desire to expand participatory democracy a feeling of powerlessness among their members opposition to the policies of the federal government

OpenStudy (zzelinski):

I'm thinking d, opposition to the policies of the federal government because the antiwar movement was *against* the war and therefore against the government. They didn't want support for greater economic equality. I don't think it could be C because the antiwar movement was gathering more and more followers and protesters as the war moved on.

Black Panthers and American Indian Movement (AIM) Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) and National Urban League (NUL) National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and the Red Power Movement

OpenStudy (zzelinski):

D, the Black Panthers used violence to force rapid desegregation rather than civil disobedience to bring it about slowly. The Black Panthers, an organization of African Americans fighting for justice, were basically known for their violence and use of weapons. The SNCC was known for nonviolence. They turned to sit-ins and "peaceful protests" instead of violence.
