Which of the following ordered pairs is not a solution to the inequality y > -3x + 5? (0, 6) (-1, 9) (1, -1) (2, 0)

OpenStudy (jim766):

to do this all you need to do is substitute the x and y's of the points and see which is true x y for example: (0, 6) y > -3x + 5 6 > -3(0) + 5 6 > 5 this is true, it is in the solution 6 is greater than 5 does this make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it actually does. Thanks

OpenStudy (jim766):

now, what they want to know is which point is not in the solution, so you have to keep trying the others to see which is not true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright

OpenStudy (jim766):

let me know if you have trouble

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay
