Evaluate the expression below x=1,y=-2,and z=3. 3x-2y / z+4

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So we plug in those values for the corresponding variables \[\frac{ 3x - 2y }{ z + 4 }\] becomes \[\frac{ 3(1) - 2(-2) }{ (3) + 4 }\] Can you solve this??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 7/ 12, im not to sure if its right or not. :c

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

I wont go through all that...you almost have it...just remember that down there in the denominator....its 3 + 4 not 3*4 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright! thank you :D

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So you get 7/7 which is ...?
