OpenStudy (anonymous):

If m = 10x + 4 and m = 5x – 4, find m. 65 78 56 12

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Well, we can set the two equations equal to each other, because m = m. \[10x+4 = 5x-4\] Can you solve that for \(x\)? Once you have a value for \(x\) plug it back into either one of those equations to find \(m\).

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Are you sure you copied the equations properly?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

I think it is supposed to be \[10x-4\] and \[5x+4\]
