How do u know that bacteriocin is hydrophobic or not ??

Hydrophobic means that the substance referred to "fears" water, or cannot dissolve in water. One known example of hydrophobic molecules is the phospholipids in our cell membranes: the hydrophilic heads stay on the outside and bridge the hydrophobic tails, which stay inside. I'm not too sure about bacteriocins but here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Class_II_bacteriocin. If you look at the structure and identify if its polar/non-polar, you should be able to identify if bacteriocin is hydrophobic or not.
