i need proof to show that R = 0 for the weightless to be applicatble
zaphod, a person in a spaceship orbiting the earth does not feel weightless because the only force acting on him is gravitational force, there is no contact force at all.
so the weight = centripetal force.
the reason why the astronaut feels weightlessness is the exact same reason why a person in free fall (i.e no contact force, only gravitational force ) experience weightlessness. However, for the case of the astronaut, he does not "fall" like a person sky diving because the gravitational force acts as the centripetal force and only changes the direction of the tangential velocity.
