Which type of wave cannot transmit energy through a vacuum? Answer A. electromagnetic B. mechanical C. light D. radio .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's realy a stupid question :P

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

are light and radiowaves both electromagnetic waves? our light comes from the sun, right? is there a vacuum between the earth and the sun?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

@Mashy that's far from a stupid question. it is a good question, @jake88. remember the lumniferous ether? how long did that myth persist before we got to the truth.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i meant.. its stated in a bad way.. the answer can't even exist in vacuum, let alone TRANSFER energy

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

@Mashy, cool. i saw it differently. i think the notion that energy and matter move very easily and readily without the need for any medium is not necessarily intuitive. it can't be as history shows! but i see your point too. cheers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea .. ll give you a medal, cause you are actually trying to get him to answer the question instead of giving the answer yourself, which only few people do it (including me :D )..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its mechanical
