What would you define Crohn's Disease as? a. stomach disease b. Gastrointestinal disorder c. Fungal growth Please give your letter response answer first, as if it were a quiz you were taking, and then, if you wish, you can define it in your own way! I am actually a Crohnnie myself! So I would really just love to know where the education on the digestive tract disease epidemic slowly hitting our society, really lies. Whether people know a good enough amount about it or not, because it truly is becoming more and more common by the day. Personally, I believe that people do NOT know enough about these kinds of illnesses because some folks are still stuck in a mental era where things about the bowels, your poop, your bum, gas, bathroom talk, etc, were things that are NOT to be discussed.... However, when they are the symptoms of seriously intense and life-long illnesses that are battling our societies youth, adolescents, and young adults [[at age of discovery/diagnosis]] I think it's time to drop the old school ways, get real, and get modern. `Cause whether you wanna talk about it or not, someone in your family, one of your friends, or one of THEIR friends, has or WILL have, a digestive disorder...from very simple, to very difficult manageability, but still, they are THAT common now. So open your eyes people... POOP EXISTS, SURE ITS GROSS,YOU'RE PREACHIN` TO THE CHOIR ON THAT! Just take my advice when I say, " LIGHTEN up, and OPEN up!" Thanks =) ----Kay

That's an awesome and totally accurate way to define Crohn's Disease...I actually have it myself, unfortunately =\ && Right after joining this site, I had wondered if I were to ask it in a unique question form, with answer options to see which choice people would decide to go with, how people would respond. Sadly not too many folks know about these digestive disorders that are become more and more common by the day. Also, the new diagnoses being given, are to younger people...from an elementary school age, all the way up to grad school...and far beyond it, but the majority is within the younger population when discovering the illness. It should be discussed on a broader scale than it is, but unfortunately some people in our society are still stuck in a time era where things of this nature aren't to be discussed, as if it were taboo... sad but true.. However, your response hit the nail on the head, thanks for sharing! Although, I'm still wondering, how would you have answered it with one of the given response options? By Choosing either a, b, c, or d? Although we both can automatically eliminate answer D because clearly we both know already that its not a cancerous gene...down the line the complications in your digestive tract may somehow and someDAY lead to something to that affect, the Crohn's gene itself would not be considered a malignant cell. That option was there to see if anyone thought that of it or not, just testing random knowledge and seeing where the education in this area actually lies in today's population.
