7x^3-8x^2+6

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Combine like term. \[\large \large x^3 - 6x^2 + 6x^3 - 2x^2 + 6\] To combine like term, you want to find like term. We can combine x^3 and 6x^3. Why? Well, the variable and the exponent is the same. So this would give us: x^3 + 6x^3 = 7x^3 Another like term is -6x^2 and -2x^2. (Same variable and same exponent) -6x^2 - 2x^2 = -8x^2 Finally, we are left with 6. There's no like term for 6. So our answer should be, \[\large 7x^3 - 8x^2 + 6\]
