i am totally confused on how to work these...

Hello, my name is Stephen and I'll be your tutor
In the form: y = mx + b, m is the slope of the equation and b is the y-intersect
You first want to put the equation in y = mx + b by solving for y. To do this, take x + 3y = 6, and subtract x, and then divide by 3.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so now it is
y= 2-x
???
OpenStudy (compassionate):
x + 3y = 6
3y = 6 - x
y = 2 - 3x
y = 3x - 2

ok now what?

Now, you go to -2 on your y-intersect and your slope is 3/1, so you rise 3 and run 1.

:( i am afraid i am confused

Draw a graph on a piece of paper for me. 10 high and 10 low.

hmm ok got it

Those black lines are your middle points. Now, on your y intersect go over -2 spaces
