A river flows with a constant E'k' of 4*(10^6) J, whose mg is given as 5*(10^5) N. It falls down from a certain height towards a turbine kept at a lower level to produce electrical energy using the fact that energy produced at any height is given by e=mgh+c(neglecting the loss of energy). Which implies E=7*(10^5)h+2*(10^6). Another River E=5*(10^5) *h+22*(10^6). Draw the equation for the two equations in the same graph sheet by taking E and h as y and x resp.Also find the height at which the produce the same amount of energy. Second Pair. E=7*(10^5)h+2*(10^6); E=7*(10*5)h + 6*(10^6).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Third Pair. E=4*(10^5)h+2*(10^6) 3E=12*(10^5)h+6*(10^6) I understand the first pair is intersecting, second pair is parallel and third pair is co incident. Please Help.

you're right, wat do u need help with ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i coudnt substitute and get values for x and y to plot the graph!! @ganeshie8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

ok, pick one pair. il walk u through plotting the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

E=7*(10^5)h+2*(10^6); E=7*(10*5)h + 6*(10^6).

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

draw coordinate grid and label x and y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the apt scale to be taken? @ganeshie8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

10^6 = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x axis?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

1 unit = 1 Megajoule

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

x axis is the height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1371970453406:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For what value does x axis take which equals y axis?? I have substituted many values but nothing seems to work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

didnt get wat u asking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need points to draw the graph rite?? Like for example let us take two equations x+y=7;x-y=3. then|dw:1371970802336:dw| Like this how can i find for these two equations so that i can plot the graph?? @ganeshie8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

same way

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

E=7*(10^5)h+2*(10^6); E=7*(10*5)h + 6*(10^6).

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

since we have taken 10^6 = 1 unit in y, the equations become :- E = 0.7h + 2 E = 0.7h + 6

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Now plugin and fill the table

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank You!!
