Use mathematical induction to prove the following proposition: P(n) : 3 + 5 + 7 + ….+2n+ 1 = n(2 + n) where n = 1, 2, 3, ….

OpenStudy (loser66):

Basis case P(1) hold or not?

OpenStudy (loser66):

I am guiding you, you must do by yourself. I don't give you the answer because there is no answer in "prove" problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

P(1) is not hold correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I worked it out and I got false not sure if I did it correctly

OpenStudy (loser66):

why? P(1) = 1(2+1) =3 hold for sure, your first term is 3, is it not right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool now I see how to solve the induction! Thanks for your time

OpenStudy (loser66):

ok, have fun

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well do thanks again
