what is the percent yield if the actual yield of CH4 is69.8g?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

methane and hydrogen sulfide form when 36g H2 reacts with carbon disulfide

First WELCOME TO OPEN STUDY :) @haleyneedshelp if you need any help or thing in opens study just message me

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

can u write the balanced equation for this

OpenStudy (jfraser):

write the balanced equation, and find out how much methane you SHOULD make.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

False

OpenStudy (aaronq):

you need to know the initial amount of carbon disulfide to solve this question

OpenStudy (jfraser):

@aaronq, no you dont. if you assume there's an excess of \(CS_2\) to react with. It automatically assumes the \(H_2\) is the limiting reactant without actually saying so

OpenStudy (aaronq):

ohh okay. i didn't see it said there was an excess of it, must've missed it.
