There are two common locations where a pulse can be taken. The first is your radial pulse located below your bottom palm crease on the radial part of your wrist. The second is your carotid arterial pulse bordering the sternocleidomastoid muscle in your neck region, below your mandibles. Of course, there are other locations to feel your pulse, such as your legs and chest. To feel your pulse, it is ideal to use and press down on the pulse region with your index and middle fingertips. Count the number of pulses in 15 seconds and then take that and multiply it by 4. That will give your pulse count for 1 minute. The number of counts should fall from 60-100 beats per minute for adults, and 70-100 beats per minute for children.
