Give the coordinates of two points on the line y = -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1372267756352:dw| There are many points to choose from on the line y= -2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-2,0)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really bad with graphs sorry..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not a problem at all! I am more than happy to help! The coordinate (-2,0) would not work since "-2" represents the x value and "0" represents the y value. So the point would be located here: |dw:1372268016935:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what point would work (-2,-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So that point would still not work, however (-2,-2) would work. Since y= -2, all of your coordinates will have a y value that is equal to -2. The x value will vary, however the y value will stay the same.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-2,1)

Remember that when you are writing the coordinates of a point, the x value is always the first number. (x, y). So if you flipped those coordinates around so that the x value was equal to 1 and the y value was equal to -2, then that point would be on the line "y= -2."
