Hello there! I can help you. Do you have any idea where to start, or are you completely lost?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im lost can you walk it through for me step by step.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I definitely can. OKay, this is an absolute value question, which means there will be two answers to the same equation. Absolute value is basically a math shortcut for writing two equations. Does this make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Great. So these are your two equations: ONE: 3(2x - 1) - 4 = 29 TWO: 3(-2x + 1) - 4 = 29 As you can see, the signs in the parenthesis change for each equation. That's what those absolute value signs mean ( they look like this ||).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thanks this makes this a lot easier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you got it from here? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes i just needed a refresher so thanks again.
