What are the zeros of the polynomial function: f(x) = (x – 3)(x + 1)(x – 5)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3, -1 and 5 are the zeros of the given polynomial.

thanksss

For what value of 'x' will each bracket equal 0? (Note that when one bracket is 0 of a factored polynomial, then the whole thing equals 0 hence the x-value at which a certain bracket was 0 must be an x-intercept of the polynomial)

@dpasingh Try not to give away the answer. @spiderman10

Since by substituting x= 3, -1, 5 you will get the values of f(3)=0, f(-1)=0 and f(5)=0
