How do I subtract them (4x7 + 5x4 - 11) - (19x4 + 9x7 - 7)

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Hello, the first step is taking them out of parentheses. \[4x^7 + 5x^4 - 11 - 19x^4 + 9x^7 - 7\] Now, remember, you can ONLY add like-terms. That means, the 7th powers, 4th powers, and your constants can only be added to one-another.

I got -1x-18 and thats not the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its\[13x ^{7}+(-14x) ^{4}+(-18)\] but im not 100%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-5x^7 - 14x^4 - 18 I think this is it but idk either

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it could be that you just have to combined the one with the same power i might have done my math wrong and urs could be right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe but thanks for helping :)
