A firecracker shoots up from a hill 150 feet high with an initial speed of 110 feet per second. Using the formula H(t) = −16t2 + vt + s, approximately how long will it take the firecracker to hit the ground? Refresh me, is the starting height s or v?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Starting height is 150

OpenStudy (ja1):

ye ye but is the starting height S or V?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Starting height is H(0) = 150, so: \[H(0) = -16*0^2+v*0 + s = 150\] What do you think it is?

OpenStudy (ja1):

AHHHH so S is the starting height? mkay thanks babe ;) I totally forgot lol
