HOW DO I DO THIS?!?!?!? A data set has the following points: (0, 2), (4, 1), (6, 0) The slope of the linear regression line is -0.32. Find the y-intercept of the linear regression
Probably close to two. I say that since the slope between the first and last data points is -1/3, and there is a data point at (0,2). If you need more significant figures, use the same calculator that gave you the regression line slope to get the intercept.
they gave me the slope...
im still confused lol
Sorry, I'm not much help here. Been a few decades since I calculated this stuff.
haha its alright im in a online class and they should've told me im screwed from the beginning because this class doesn't help me learn anything they leave steps out of the solution when your learning the process which leaves you questioning where they got certain numbers...
Hope you can figure it out. Do math every day.
This might help. http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=linear+regression+%280%2C2%29%284%2C1%29%286%2C0%29
The computer just figures the least-squares fit, and gives the equation of the line. Looks like the intercept is a little above two (as I had estimated).
ok thank you!
