Precalculus 7 Online

Hey I'm taking precalc next year, any tips and advice?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Just make sure to solve as many problems as you can would be my only advice to anyone taking a math class heavy on computations.

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

For classes that are more into theory, such as topology, advanced calculus, etc. I would suggest you read, read, read, read and read; and, most of all, understand what you have read. I haven't come across that many problems in those classes, but again, I solved the ones that I did come across.

Yes study alot !

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

I mean just understand the subject. Leave no stone unturned, make sure to ask questions on topics that you don't understand. Precalculus is the basis of calculus, which is the basis of many classes that you'll have to take eventually, if you decide to continue pursuing a degree/career in math, so you will need and must have a very strong foundation.

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

That being said, best of luck in pre-calculus, you're going to have fun :D

Thank you soooooooo much!!!!! =D

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

np :)

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Don't spend the whole semester wishing you were in calculus! Get this material down SOLID!!! Next year, when all the other students jump into calculus, they will have to take refreshers in this material. You can spend the whole time learning the calculus! Advantage - YOU!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

although that last advice is well meant, I don't think anyone actually ever spends the whole time "wishing they were in Calculus." The're more like wishing for the bloody class to end !

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I did mean well thank you, and thank you @Luis_Rivera for making me think about it a little harder. Those who watch their friends dive into calculus without nearly enough background, which is very common in U.S. High Schools, are subjected to the social pressures I mention. Really, though, my intent is to encourage the student to be happy where he/she is and take the opportunity to learn all that is available. Don't worry about not being where someone else is.
