@whpalmer4

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

if you have any two points that have the same x value but different y values its not a function.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah but they all do ..

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

B does?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 ?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

we are only concerned with points that have the same x value and different y values ilke (1,3)(1,7) or (2,-5)(2,6) or (-3,34)(-3,-56)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

so yes you have a point where a y value is 3 and an x value is 3 but that's ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh. i thought you couldnt have any of the same.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

but option B has no repeated x values, so we cant have the problem where x is paired with two different numbers.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, so then its B, like you said? cause thats what i originally thought but i second guessed it.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

nah (3,5)(2,5) is ok (-4,5)(5,-4) is ok (5,7)(7,7) is ok (4,6)(4,7) is NOT ok

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

yes B is the one:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well thank you!
