OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

What are the solutions of the equation: z2 - 12z + 36 = 0? A. -6, 6 B. 6, 6 C. 6, -6 D. -6, -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first step is to find 2 numbers that when multiplied give you 36 but when added, they give you -12. Hint: since you have -12 for the sum, the 2 numbers are NEGATIVE. Start by listing all pairs of numbers that when multiplied give you 36, but where both numbers are NEGATIVE.

OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

I do believe it is D.

Good luck to you in all of your studies and thx for the recognition! @ExplainItLikeImFive

It's actually "b" x^2 - 12x + 36 = 0 = (x - 6)(x - 6) The "-6" is for finding factors. The actual zeros are 6, 6.
