Heat is a measurement of temperature change .Answer True False

OpenStudy (anonymous):

False, because it it actually the measurment of average kinetic energy, right?

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

false :)

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

average kinetic energy of what ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of the particles

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

yup :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks! That was my last question. Thank you for all your help, Believe me, you have no idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think about 100 degrees water becoming 100 degrees steam. The heat changes but the temperature is kept constant. So it is not!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

false; Heat is the sum total of all the internal energy of a system(i.e. the potential & the kinetic energy)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd rather say heat and work is the sum of internal energy of the system

OpenStudy (anonymous):

false

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Heat is energy in motion (i.e the transfer of energy as a result of a temperature difference--high to low), measured in joules. Energy is the ability to do work, measured in joules. Temperature is the average kinetic energy of particles in an object, measured in Celsius or Kelvin.
