in calculus ,which chap is short and takes less time to complete it :'(

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Derivatives lol.

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Just skip to where the meaty goodness is , forget the limits! Plus the FUN part is when you learn how to integrate. :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which one should i finish first limits or derivatives :'(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

limits first, they are essential to understanding the derivative.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh :O

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you can jump to derivatives and come back to limits.. then jump to integrals... then come back to derivatives....

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Yeah finish limits first, they teach you how to understand the behavior of a function as it approaches a value of x. Once you learn how it works, finding derivatives is a piece of cake!

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Hahahah YES @ganeshie8 that's what i was going to say, but it wouldnt be an advisable idea because you'd be stating the wrong method of learning calculus hahahaha

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

haha true... mastering calculus is iterative process... it wont happen like, limits->derivatives->integrals way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay limits

OpenStudy (anonymous):

btw do anyone of u know which part generally comes in iitjee exam

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

no clue

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh :'(

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Allow me to present a dissenting opinion. I don't think it is really all that important to have a technical grounding in limits to do most of integration and differentiation. The formulas derived from the basic definitions work whether you can prove that they should or not. I'm not saying that you can completely skip the limit stuff, but in terms of getting enough calculus to enable you to handle most problems that will come up in physical sciences, econ, etc. you just need to know that someone did work it out for you already :-)

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Haha. interesting.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Now, if you're going to be pursuing a math degree, taking complex analysis, etc. you'll be in trouble if you don't have a solid grasp of limits.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh :O

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

guess he is just going to iits to become another dumb engineer... so hez good ;p

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

excuse me, who's going to become "another dumb engineer"?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

who is preparing for iitjee ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8 -who :OOOOOOOOOO

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

kitty you oly... you dont wanto get into iit ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me :OOOOOOOOOO hell no i wanted to iitian coz my family wants me to be like my bro is :'(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i m not he i m she lol

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

wow ! your bro is an iitian

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep :'(

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

i was just kidding previously, iitians are the most talented in india

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol no my bro too thinks in the same way he says that iit is not like whta he used to dream of lol

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

italians? in india? haha what...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it's iitian :P iit is a toughesr exam in india :)
