Solve M = 2x + 3y for y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To solve for y, we need to get y all by itself on one side of the equation. So, we can start by subtracting 2x from both sides: \[M-2x=3y\] and now, to get y by itself, we can simply divide both sides by 3: \[(M-2x)/3=y\]
