OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which set of three segments can form a triangle? a- 15,22,6 b- 11,19,8 c. 17,9,10 d- 16,20,4

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

It can be right, acute, or obtuse I believe. These are the types of angles that a triangle has.

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Well there are 180 degrees in a triangle so what does that tell you? :P

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

You have to add up all the angles towards a triangle to get the measurements of the segments.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

So all triangles add up to 180 even it is equilateral, isosceles, or scalene.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

@alyssagonzalezzz1 Do you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

Directrix (directrix):

By the Triangle Inequality Theorem, one side of a triangle is less than the sum of the lengths of the other two sides but greater than the positive difference of those sides.

Directrix (directrix):

So, test option A: 15,22,6 15<? 22 + 6 Yes 22 <? 15 + 6 No because 22 is not less than 21. These three lengths cannot form the sides of a triangle. Go to option B and check it.
