does a circle have a height?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, pi is used to find the area of a circle. @MAYSTEPH is incorrect. Don't trust her.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the equation to find the area of a circle is: \[Area=\pi (r)^2\] Ok so u can see that pi is in the equation so that's eliminated. That's always necessary to find the area of a circle. Also in this equation u see an "r^2". R= Radius, and to find the area of a circle we have to square the radius. The radius is half of the diameter of a circle. |dw:1373302320576:dw| The only thing u don't need on that list is the height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sometimes they will only give u the diameter and not the radius and u have to find the radius using the diameter, but u don't have to know the height of a circle to find the area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In those cases just split the diameter in half. 1/2 diameter = radius|dw:1373303225935:dw|
