1) Write an equation of a line in slope intercept form with slope -3 going through the point (2, - 2). Show your work

slope intercept form is y=mx+b, where m is the slope and b is the y intercept

Ok so first of all slope-intercept form is: y=mx+b (M=slope, B=y-intercept) Now whenever they give us a point & slope to use like that we use the following formula to find the equation:|dw:1373303729455:dw| This is called the Point-Slope Formula. Okay so u might be wondering what is the y1 & x1 on there? That's where you would put your coordinates in (2,-2) ur 2 would be the x & -2 would be the y. That gives us then: |dw:1373303842727:dw| Once u distribute u would get: |dw:1373303879611:dw| And u finally subtract 2 on both sides to leave y by itself and get: |dw:1373303907866:dw| as ur final answer :) hope that helps :D
