TRUE/FALSE The notation Arcsin x represents the inverse sine function.

hartnn (hartnn):

thats correct notation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks. Can you tell me why arcsin x doesn't?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hartnn

hartnn (hartnn):

isn't it the same ? arcsin x or Arcsin x there's no difference..... both are \(\sin^{-1}x\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My teacher told me there was.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perhaps she was talking about something else as there is no difference between both. \[arcsin(x) = Arcsin(x)=sin^{-1}(x)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Look at what I attached though...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You mean because there are no brackets? arcsin(x) = arcsin x Just a different way of writing I suppose :)

hartnn (hartnn):

you got true as incorrect ? i think true is correct...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That was my homework. I am taking a practice worksheet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

True was right!!

hartnn (hartnn):

as already said by both of us :)
