OpenStudy (karatechopper):

What is a lepton? Quark? Why are electrons not made of quarks?

OpenStudy (frostbite):

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/00/Standard_Model_of_Elementary_Particles.svg Electrons are elementary particles meaning they can't be split and belong to the fermions. Leptons are not affected by the strong interaction but always of the weak and gravity. The electrically charged leptons interact also with electromagnetism. Quarks are responsible for building of matter. For an example the proton consist of two up-quarks and one down-quark.

OpenStudy (frostbite):

But this is a subatomic subject and belong to the physics section.

Another good diagram I came past: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a6/Bosons-Hadrons-Fermions-RGB-png3.png

thanks!
