OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Well we would need to use an inverse trig function to solve this....we can use any function since we have all 3 sides...so which one do you want to use lol? sin^-1 , cos^-1 , or tan^-1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no ideaaaaa

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

lol well we'll do it using sin^-1 Okay well you know sin = opposite/hypotenuse right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mhm

OpenStudy (primeralph):

Do you have a calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes sir

OpenStudy (primeralph):

It's "Yes Your Highness" What type is it? Look for the sin-1 button.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk Texas Instrument or something

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So that means....from angle T we have Opposite = 8 Hypotenuse = 17 so \[\sin = \frac{ 8 }{ 17 }\] Now...we use sin...when we know an angle...but...we need to FIND that angle...so we need to use the inverse sin function...so this should be written as \[\sin^{-1} \frac{ 8 }{ 17 }\] So on your calculator...press the 2nd button...then the sin button....this is your inverse sin function....then input 8/17 and press enter

OpenStudy (primeralph):

Just use google then.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that right?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

That would be correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you :)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

anytime :)
