someone please give an example for these monomial binomial trinomial polynomial

hartnn (hartnn):

monomial is having only one unique term, like 5x or x^2 or just a constant like 4 binomial is have 2 such different unique terms, like 5x+4 ... can u form trinomial ?? it has 3 such unique terms...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Monomial Examples: 3 3x 3x^2 Binomial Examples: x+2 3x^2 - 2x 4x^3 - 1 Trinomial Examples: 3x^2 + 2x - 1 x^5 - 2x^3 + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a^3 - 2a^2 + 4a + 5 I think this would be Trinomial?!?!?!

hartnn (hartnn):

does that have 3 terms or 4 terms ?

hartnn (hartnn):

trinomial should only have 3 terms...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought it would be trinomial because of the example @T-Dunn gave me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@T_Dunn

hartnn (hartnn):

T_dunn gave you examples of trinomial having 3 terms only! but a^3 - 2a^2 + 4a + 5 has 4 different terms a^3 -2a^2 4a 5 got this ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry!!

hartnn (hartnn):

your examples arecorrect T_Dunn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh well Thankyou :)..I dont nkow much more about this so hope you figure it all out @GreenBeanDemphsey :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so if its not trinomial which one has 4terms

hartnn (hartnn):

a polynomial has 4 or more terms :) so, a^3 - 2a^2 + 4a + 5 is a good example of a polynomila! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i see why TRinomial only has 3 terms! thanks!:)

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
